Wood-Ridge Packers?
Did you know that the early W-R Junior Football Program colors were green and gold?
1976 PeeWees
Yes, that's right, the W-R Packers played through the mid 70's when the team changed
to Blue and White and changed to the Blue Devils nickname consistant with the W-R HS
team. The Blue Devils added silver to the uniform jersey in the early 90's. The silver
helmet was introduced in the 1998 season along with the Blue Devil logo similar to the
Arizona Sun Devil. Silver pants debuted in 1999. Prior to the 1998 only one jersey,
blue and silver, was worn for all games . League rules effective that year required
all teams to have a home (white) and road (color) jersey. In 2003 black was added
as a uniform color, with the elimination of silver from the dark uniform. The helmets
were changed to blue that year, also.
Since then, the Blue Devils have maintained a philosophy of One Program.
We are in constant
communication with our High School program and strive to build the strongest young men possible.
This is Blue Devil Country!
