2009 Door to Door and Picture Day!

Below is the schedule for this weekend...

Saturday 9/26/2009 – 9:00AM – WR Civic Center– Cheerleaders distribute envelopes for Door to Door

Saturday 9/26/2009 – 4:00PM Mighty Mites @ Ridgefield Park – Peewee, Junior and Senior Games to follow

Sunday 9/27/2009 – 10:00AM – Team and Individual Pictures begin
First Groups Will Be Senior Boys and Girls
Followed, in order, by Juniors, Then PeeWees, Then Mighty Mites and Flag
(We are approximating half hour increments per level)

Note: Football Pictures will be taken in White Game Jerseys this year.

Sunday 9/27/2009 - Immediately Following Pictures, Football Players Pick Up Envelopes from WR and Moonachie.

Any further details will be provided by your Head Coach.

2009 Football Camp

It's been a great week @ the 2009 Blue Devils Football Camp. We'd like to thank The WRHS Football Coaching Staff for their untiring efforts with our atheletes... the impact of their efforts will be felt for years to come!

2009 WRHS FOOTBALL CAMP - FREE!

FOOTBALL CAMP: The Wood-Ridge Junior Football Camp is designed for the athlete looking to prepare him/herself for the upcoming football season. The coaching staff, led by WRHS Head Football Coach – Chris Lange, will provide hands-on training in all aspects of the game; including individual, positional and team instruction. Our goal is to develop sound fundamentals, teach self-confidence, respect and success. This will provide each player with an opportunity to develop teamwork.

REGISTRATION: To enroll in camp, a complete registration form, with physical and full payment must be sent to Coach Lange. Walk-in registrations on the first day of the camp will be permitted. The Camp is FREE to Wood-Ridge and Moonachie Athletes.

DATES & LOCATION: Monday July 27^st – Friday July 31^st       WRHS Field – Locker Room Entrance

WHO CAN ATTEND: Student Athletes entering grades 3-8 in September 2009.

WHAT TO BRING: T-Shirt, Gym Shorts, Grass Football Cleats and Sneakers.

MEDICAL INSURANCE: In the event of illness or injury requiring treatment, hospitalization or surgery, family medical insurance must be used. The recreation commission requires that participants be covered by some form of personal medical insurance. The High School Athletic Trainer will be available to assess any injury.

CAMP SCHEDULE: (typical day)

5:45PM    Arrival

6:00PM    7:00PM      Practice (Instruction & Drills)

7:00PM    7:15PM      Water Break (mandatory)

7:15PM    8:00PM      Practice (Instruction & Drills)

8:15PM    Departure

All Campers must report to the Sports Complex at 5:45PM daily and will be dismissed at 8:15PM

The Leader: Unbeaten WR cheerleaders garner national title

WOOD-RIDGE (April 2, 2009) —Under head coach Jennifer Hynes, the competition cheerleading contingent from Wood-Ridge High School has become quite a force to be reckoned with, as the Lady Blue Devils earned myriad championships during the program’s first seven seasons under the direction of Hynes.

However, while perfection has always been the program’s goal, few really expected the locals to actually go unbeaten through an entire campaign.

Battle at the Capital

Our Senior Competition Cheering team traveled to Fairfax, Va to compete at the Costal Corporation’s National “Battle at the Capital”.

Out of the Eleven Teams in their Division, our girls placed second.

Individually, out of more than 300 cheerleaders, eleven of our team of twenty-four were invited to cheer at the NFL Pro Bowl game, January 2010 in Miami. They were selected by independent judges and chosen due to their extraordinary tumbling skills.

They also won a full paid bid to Virginia Beach May 1st – 3^rd, 2009 for the U.S Final Destination National Competition.

Please join us in congratulating them on a great finish to their fantastic 2009 season!

INTERNATIONAL GRAND CHAMPS!

We’ve just received word from Disneyworld…

The Wood-Ridge High School Competitive Cheering Team are InterNational Grand Champions.

In a season where they placed first in all Nine competitions they entered, and in Seven of those Nine received Highest Score or Grand Champions, they headed to Florida for the Americheer Nationals.

Our Girls Placed First, Received the Best Choreography Award and were named Overall InterNational Grand Champions!

Please join us in congratulating them on a fantastic finish to an outstanding undefeated season!
